Your Bathroom Habits are Important!

Yep, I’m goin’ there! Today we are talking all about poop!

Wanna know why?

  1. It is obvious and crystal clear feedback about your internal health
  2. Your entire immune system is connected to your digestive landscape
  3. Bowel movements are the most important action in full body detoxification
  4. Your energy is closely tied to your regularity
  5. Your mental health may be more related to your gut than your mind

So what does “healthy” digestion and elimination look like?

When coaching my clients I start with the question: “Does your belly feel bloated and congested”? The two things are sure signs that your system is not as optimized as it could be. Healthy digestion means little to none bloating, gas or burping regardless of what you eat. These symptoms indicate that gases are being created inside of your small or large intestine- and that’s not ideal.

I also always ask my client how often she is eliminating. In a perfect world, our body would signal us to poop after every large meal like breakfast, lunch and dinner. Technically that’s how the body is designed. Unfortunately, I have yet to meet a woman who has this superpower. Some are lucky enough to eliminate twice per day, but the most common and acceptable frequency is once per day. If you are eliminating once per day (or more) and each bowel movements feels complete, you are most likely “healthy.”

Yeah, that’s not me. Boy do I have a long story of digestive issues. I LOVE talking about poop! A huge part of my journey to optimal health was spent figuring out my personal “Poop Personality”. Each of us has a unique collection of symptoms and quirks around around digestive system. It helps A TON to understand yours.

I’ve wanted to talk about this FOR YEARS but I know it’s kind of unspoken territory. I don’t understand why we don’t have more conversations about it, and Imma ‘bout to change that!
