The Problem with HIIT Workouts
Feb 28, 2017

I am OBSESSED with this topic! If you have read somewhere that high intensity workouts are THE way to go, PLEASE stop and read today’s email update.
HIIT stands for “High Intensity Interval Training” and usually refers to cardio-specific workouts. Boot camp and Crossfit-style workouts also apply here because they are also high intensity and interval based using resistance moves.
“High Intensity” basically means that you are getting into the “Ugh, I’m going to die” territory during any given moment of a workout. If you rated your workout on a scale from 1 to 10 where 1 equals falling asleep on your couch during a lazy Sunday, and a 10 equals the HARDEST thing you have EVER done, “High Intensity” usually represents a 9 or 10 on that scale.
Please note: I am NOT saying that HIIT and high intensity workouts are “bad”! In fact, they are super important…at the RIGHT time for the right REASONS.
