How to Do Macros - 101

general health nutrition the nutrition project watch (videos) Apr 11, 2017

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I often talk about “macros.” While it has become a very popular term, many people are still pretty confused about what it means, exactly.

Today I’m going to change that for you! AND, you get bonus tips that are not in the video below because you are part of this email list!

In the simplest form, “Macros” is the abbreviation for “Macronutrients.”

There are three – and only three – macronutrients, and they are:

Protein

Fat

Carbohydrates

Pretty simple, huh?

Eating according to “macros” simply means that you are strategically eating a specific amount of each of the three macronutrients above. Each day, you eat a certain amount of protein, a specific amount of fat, and a measured amount of carbs.

Where it gets interesting is in determining how many of each macro to eat.

There is no “one way” to eat macros. There are many different macronutrient formulas that you could follow and is the reason there is so much conversation on the topic. Be sure to click below on the image and check out this week’s video on this topic.
